Meow

Dr. Grumpy: "I don't like the sound of this... I want to admit you directly to the hospital. Let me make some calls."

Miss Felid: "Okay... But what about Mr. Fluffles?"

Dr. Grumpy: "Uh, what about him?"

Miss Felid: "Will you take care of him?"

Dr. Grumpy: "Can't your daughter go over to your house?"

Miss Felid: "But he's not there!"

She sets her large purse on the desk, and Mr. Fluffles looks out to see what's going on.

Dr. Grumpy: "Oh! I had no idea you had him here."

Miss Felid: "So can you take care of him?"

Dr. Grumpy: "Why don't I call your daughter?"

Miss Felid: "You've really hurt his feelings."

I thought I was the only one who carried my cat around in my handbag.

Gees, you hurt my feelings too.

One time, I just suggested to someone carrying a dog that if you put them on the ground they are capable of walking. Hey , I said it nicely. My blistered ears healed nicely too.

Can't you open a part of your waiting room to board your patients' beloved pets? The kids would love it! You'd be the most popular neuro in town! Except for all the people with allergies, of course.

Well, I certainly hope you apologized to Mr. Fluffles!!!

Apologize! And Ms. Felid (yes got it). did have a problem. The hosp. would just call Animal Control and have the feline destroyed. Not the best thing for Ms. F's state of mind

I take it none of the recent interactive drug displays are large enough to house Fluffles?

"Besides, my daughter hasn't been very nice to Mr. Fluffles lately, ever since I rewrote my will to leave everything to him."

Was that my mother by any chance? I'm glad I didn't give her my real number...

Much to my shame I am guilty of carrying my chihuahua in my purse. But in my defense, he's literally 2 1/2 lbs, has no eyeballs, and I don't take him with me to the doctor. Though he did go to the opthalmologist once on request.

My housemate did take her small dog to her doctor's office once. At least she didn't hide him. It was Christmas Eve, he was dressed as an elf, and the clinic staff pressed him into service as an impromptu therapy do to visit the rest of the patients.

I'm sure the cat would get along great with Dr. Pissys dog.

My ophthalmologist is married to a veterinarian and she LOVES cats. She just might have taken care of this kitty.

I used to work for two neuros as their secretary, many moons ago. They also loved cats and definitely would have called the patient's daughter to make certain the cat was well cared for. Good job Dr. G.

Gotta be a cat person. Most everyone likes dogs for the most part.

Maybe it was a variation on take your cat to work day.

Don't Snowball and Mello need a new chew toy?

It takes all kinds to make this world go round in the same direction consistently.

Just let her keep the cat with her. If you didn't know about it til she "let the cat out of the bag", the hospital probably won't notice either!

several years ago, had ER consult. saw elderly lady, who was out in her community, near dumpster with large paper bag when collapsed, with MI.

EMSA staff loaded her, and bag, along with other stuff . she arrived at er with objects in hand.

in course of H&P, discovered increased stress due to recent death of cat, which she had bagged, but could not dig grave and didnt want in her trash, so went to local big dumpster to place deceased cat.

cat was still in bag. in er.

As I am terribly allergic to Mr. Fluffles and his ilk, I would have discovered him in her purse much sooner.

you are not a cat person, aren't you?

I'm a cat person and I still would have reacted the same way he did except I maybe would have apologize to both her and Mr. Fluffles, letting them know I didn't mean to offend either of them, it just wouldn't be best for him to be in my care. Especially when I have other patients to see and who could possibly be allergic to them.

At least she had a daughter, someone who could take care of him.
