Great drug rep moments

"Doctor, our company is actively involved in Alzheimer's research. In fact, one of our internal studies recently found that patients and their families are concerned the disease may cause memory loss. They worry about being forgetful, too."

I hate to tell them this but at a certain point remembering is rather useless. I helped take care of my late grandparents. My grandmother had several strokes & TIAs while my grandfather had Alzheimer's. I make a notebook with instructions on how to use the toaster, coffee maker and so on in LARGE print. We still got phone calls about how to do things which was when I finally managed to convince mom & my aunts that they needed 24/7 assistance. ::sigh::; February 7, 2011 at 3:19 PM
Anonymous said...: Everybody and his brother is researching Alzheimers, because of the prospect of millions of aging baby boomers racing head on into the abyss. Just think what it will be like with 5 million or so untreated 80 y o where they hop in the car in NY, and arrive 6 days later in CA without a clue as to how they got there.
